Proper care of skin will avoid delay in the healing time and will also avoid complications. The first thing to do right after you have had your tattoo is to remove the bandage four hours or overnight after the procedure; wash the tattooed area with an antibacterial soap and warm water. While doing so, remember that the tattooed part of the skin is sensitive, so gently wash it with your hands without using towels or sponge. In the first five days, use ointment such as A&D, and then use moisturizer on it. After a few days, the wound will develop flakes or scabs.
