There isn't a correct way for you to help others to make the decision about going back to school. The person that you are trying to help may end up feeling hurt and frustrated from your pressure. You will want to make sure that you do not make them feel like you are singling out and trying to make them feel bad. You don't want to seem like you are on their case, but you should try to encourage them to do this for themselves. They will feel a lot better about themselves when they see just how great it is to be back in the swing of home work and social dates.
If you really want to help the person, you will want to show others your feelings through support. You don't want to give them too much direction, but just let them know what it would be like if they did end up going back to school.
You will want to show them that you will be there for them through the thick and thin. You will want to also tell them that their relationship with you will not be affected by any of their decisions.
Once you have given them the support that they need to just be themselves, you will then want to think about giving them that extra push. You will want to give them that extra push by letting pamphlets of some schools lay around. You will want to be efforts in making it look casual. You don't want them to think that you are trying to push them into anything, but let them see several items about the local schools around the house. You don't want to have too much information laying around, but you will want to make sure that you just make it look like you were doing a little bit of research, but that you aren't going to push. It has to be subtle.
Then you could always set down and have a talk to them. You will want to see what kind of future that they are interested in so that you can get the proper information about some of the local schools. If you are able to show them that there are courses for the things that they are interested in, then you will be able to get their attention.
You will want to do a lot of things to get them thinking about college, but also let them see the benefits of the pros of college, but also let them be aware of all the costs that college has. You not only have to give college some of your income, but a lot of your time and energy. It takes a lot of resources to make college work.
College can be something that is very beneficial, but you have to think that timing has to be right for it to work. You have to be to give college everything you have, but when it comes to those who have a family, you may find it very hard to let go of all your time. You have to think about what that person is going through now. It may just not be the best for them to try college out at this time, but make sure that you are ready to support them when the time is right.
You will find that there is a lot to gain through your new strong relationship, and they may end up at college after awhile. That is something that is very important when it comes to parent's of teens who are lost in life.
