Talk to friends, acquaintances, neighbors, etc. because once you have a few customers, if you do a good enough job, your business will grow as a result via satisfied customers talking to their own network of friends. The best way is for people to be able to drop their alterations around to your house and explain the type of sewing job they would like done on their garments. Sometimes your customers may need to try something on while you make some adjustments using pins and so a private area for changing would be useful.

You could even get creative and call your work at home sewing business a name like ‘Susan’s Sewing’ and make up a personalized receipt book or perhaps use the computer to generate receipts.
