1969, the year when internet was first introduced, it was being used only by the military and defense people to transmit information from one end to another without the use of any hard media. At that time it was operated with maximum secrecy so that the general public should not know about it, thus to ensure that there is no threat to confidentiality of the data traveling thru this source.
But with time, various new proposals were devised for the purpose of flowing this information, which brought with it various security patches and tools that could work with this innovation and could ensure that the securities could be imposed on the data traveling.
