Home Internet Business Opportunities: Get Going With Articles

By: Dr. Dave

No matter what your internet business may be, there is no better way of blasting your name and business throughout the internet than through article writing. Interesting, informative, professionally written articles with the appropriate content can provide you with targeted traffic and high quality permanent links to your web site. I know, you have nothing to write about. Wrong! I’m not a writer. Wrong! Read on and I will help you see that you may be an expert on more topics than you thought.

If you’ve recently started an online business then your first article should be written about the process that you went through to finally choose the business that you chose. How did you find that business? How did you contact your suppliers, sponsor, co-founders, etc? Why did you choose that particular industry? As you continue through your business growth you will find ample subject matter to write about. As you begin writing your articles, be sure to stay within the article submission guidelines of the site you are submitting to as you don’t want your articles to get stuck in the approval room too long. Remember, your articles are a very inexpensive way to get your business website exposed, so you need to get them published ASAP.

Some quick tips for writing an article include: 1)Don’t write a classified ad - do not try to sell anything in your article, 2) Don’t include affiliate links - publishers do not like them because they do not add any useful content to the article, 3) Avoid spelling mistakes as it does not show professionalism, 4) Make your title compelling and get to your point quickly in the first couple lines of your opening paragraph, 5)Make your copy clear and tell your readers what you want them or what they need to do, 6) Place keywords in strategic places throughout your article, but do not overdo it. The keywords should be related to your site. Try to identify your keywords before you begin writing your article. It is very important that your articles contain your targeted keywords and that they read well, 7) Keep your articles short, 500 to 1000 words. You do not want to write long articles because people are limited for time. You can write an effective article with the main points in less than 1000 words, 8) Don’t forget to include a link to your site in the resource box. If people like your article, they will probably click on the link so they can visit your site. Once you get people to read your article you have a much better chance they will click your URL or anchor text in your resource box.

A resource box is usually found at the end of an article. So what should you put in your resource box? It should contain the name of the author, a brief description of the author, a brief description of your web site and a link. The resource box is your readers link to the source of the article and if they liked your article it will entice them to go to your site. Good content for your resource box must contain keywords that relate to your site. Make people click your resource box by providing creative and interesting content that touches your readers’ curiosity.

It will take some time for you punch out your articles at first, but as your business progresses and your knowledge of your industry increases, writing an article a day will become a much easier process.
