It is easy to have time pass by each day and not get done what is needed in your network marketing business. Here are some tips on Time Management.
Most Network marketers work their business part time while balancing a corporate job, family obligations, and more. Network marketing is not about clock time. It is about action time. Clock time is "I will work from 8:00pm to 9:00pm on my mlm business". But what inherently happens is at 8:00pm you get something to drink or eat, use the bathroom, pass by the tv and look at the game, etc., and all of a sudden its 8:30pm. Action time is make a call to a new prospect in your self-generated leads database. Make a followup call to a lead from a previous day. Mail out some cd's, magazines, sample product, etc.
Set some small daily action goals. For example, I will call two new leads everyday, and I will followup on two previous leads per day. Most actions in network marketing can be accomplished in 5 to 10 minute increments including preparation time. These daily action goals need to be very consistent and constant.
Set some small weekly action goals. For example, I will write three new articles for internet posting this week. Or I will begin two new Yahoo PPC Campaigns this week. Or I will read one new ebook this week or update my blog. These weekly action goals can fluctuate from week to week but don't let them slide by without getting them done.
Also, a good rule of thumb for recruiting time is spend 95 percent recruiting and 5 percent follow up. Talk to your recruits a few times. If they cannot make a decision, ask them to call you when they can. Don't nurture them and spends hours upon hours on the phone convincing and selling. You want to recruit independent leaders in your downline. If a recruit cannot make up his/her mind after spending proper time, move on.
For your advertising and marketing plan, your time should be spent doing 90 percent research, and 10 percent action. Do your research such as viewing other pay per click ads for good ideas or tracking the results of your own ads. You should subscribe to five or six internet newsletters for research on newsletter marketing and newsletter advertising.
Network marketing is not about clock time. However, you must first give the clock time to allow for the action time to take place.
